@shanereed04 On the 10year warranty they bank on the fact that you don't do your job with the inspections and then they only warrant the original price paid. i.e. once they rehab a manhole once that's all you get.
@shanereed04 The 10year warranty Spectrashield offers is flimsy at best. They warrant against corrosion, infiltration and exfiltration which is all fine and dandy. However the problem comes in that the way the liner is built it creates a false manhole. The water penetrates behind the foam and runs down into your system.
Actually just like anything else if done correctly it should work just fine. Spectra Shield has a condition 10 yr warranty read it. CIGMAT the testing lab at U of H will not do pull tests on SpectraShiled because will won't have the min. pull test. So if it doesn't bond in damp environments when who cares how long the warranty is. The middle layer is foam what kind of structural value is that is a masonry structure? I'd put up a 8000psi mortar with an amine epoxy any day over Spectra.
I have seen this in action myself and I wouldn't recommend it. There ends up being voids or places that it wasn't put on thick enough. Having someone actually get into the manhole and spray apply is much better and consistent. I saw a video on the SpectraShield liner that looks to be the best polymer liner out on the market and they give a 10 year warranty. I don't think anyone else does that.
