Its a fun run from the yukon river up to kusawa . the rapids are always fun we make it a couple times a year.

That takes balls doing it with a Sportjet!I'd feel better with a gas-guzzling v8!

LOL!!
Many a canoe has been defeated by the Gums.
I posted a video of the upper Takhini. No action, lame commentary (me), but gives you and idea of "the goods"

Never mind the "Gums of Death", if you want some real excitement, head up Kusawa to where the upper Takhini comes in. Then go for a run up the Takhini to Takhini Lake. Guaranteed white knuckle trip. I tried it in my Wooldridge in low water and managed to eddy out and get turned around before the "fun" really began.
I'd love to get up there with a rig like the Bulldog or Extreme Duty.

I know, I know, the "gums of worry" aren't really that big of a deal with a good boat. We did the North Big Salmon for about 30 miles this fall, and I need to upload some of the dodgy video from that trip sometime. Takhini Lake sounds like a plan for the summer. The Bulldog sucks in any kind of chop so I hate Kusawa. Can you make it all the way to the lake? Is It better in high or low water? And more importantly, are there sheep up there!?
