This is a video showing my laptop's screen on its death bed. I've uploaded the video to include in a post on my blog.

  • Maybe you have a cracked laptop screen. It is cracked in the inside.

  • @Heathermcshow Thanks for your suggestion. It was probably a cable or connection issue. Also, I apologize for the bad language. Um.. Everything your parents tell you is because they love you. :) No idea how this video got so many hits.. I guess it's a common issue which I do not have much insight for. Some of the comments below do, however!

  • Did you ever find out what the cause of this was? My laptop screen does something similar... Not that bad, but while I'm using it, sometimes the screen does that...

  • No I never found out what the cause was. I ended up removing the screen from my laptop and connecting it to a monitor, as the rest of the laptop was ok. My guess is your screen will progressively get worse. Sorry. :/

  • Happen to me :( *depressed*

  • :/ thats happening to my laptop too :/ how unfortunate D:

  • if you use a external monitor and its work fine then there is no problem with video card . then most probably the problem is not with inverter nor bulb but with the filter capacitorof your LCD

  • I have the exact same problem. And it got a lot worse. It was the display. As soon as I have changed the display, the problem went away. At first I thought it was the LCD cable or the inverter. I have changed both on my own money, but turns out it wasn't that. As I said before it was a problem with the display. But I still wonder, is the display fixable?

  • it is a problem with your lcd's cable flexible... replace it with the new one, and your problem will be solved...

  • poutz

  • My HP laptop is doing this exact thing right now... it does it like 20% of the time now and it's getting more and more frequent. I seriously hope I can fix this cause I just bought this laptop a year ago and I can't afford to replace it.
