Slowest train ever. Ironically, this is a pretty scenic route.

This has to be the slowest commuter train ever. I rode the line with MP-54s and they went a lot faster than this. And to think this was the route of the "Antracite Express"

And to think that the Pennsylvania Railroad Broadway Limit and many freight trains Pulled by GG1s and E 44 s use to cross that bridge over the freight Yard at 52nd street.

How does SEPTA justify operating a Regional Rail line so slow? Geez, I hate to say it, but a bus would probably be faster. One could almost get out and walk along side the car.

@4N0NYM0U55 Going up the hill and to CP JEFF (where the line goes to single track) is 15 MPH. From CP JEFF to the end of the line is 25. There is a reason why the Cynwyd is nicknamed "SEPTA's Dinky"....

i noticed on all the othe interior railfan videos there was a yellow tape closing off the seat infront of the railfan window? why is it like that?

@Spaceshotx7, SEPTA only has the three pilot cars and they are still in shakedown mode so there is a supervisor riding up front just in case the engineer runs into a problem.

@robertgift, yes. It was the PRR Schuylkill Branch that ran up to Pottsville with passenger service to Norristown until about 1960, to Manayunk until 1980, then extended to Ivy Ridge until 1986 when it was cut back to Cynwyd.
One of the Don Ball books has a shot of a pair of GG-1's pulling a passenger train loaded with Boy Scouts heading to the Valley Forge Jamboree in 1957, those were the days.
