  • I just have one question. Why didnt you buy Canon 5D Mark 2... over the 7D...?

i really interested in buying one.. but i'm confused with which one to go for... 5D mark 2 or 7D... can u please help me out...

Ps. Money is not an issue..

  • @ebin50 If I were to buy today I may get a 5D. The 7D has better focus, speed, the insides are just better. The sensor in the 5D is what is better than the 7D.....but not by much. You would never notice......that's why I got a 7D. The feel, speed, AF, etc. is wonderful. I would get a 7D today if given the same choice. If all you shoot are landscapes and portraits and you are not concerned speed and performance with then you might look at the 5D for the sensor.

  • @nate42nd I'm thinking 35mm cause it's cheaper. Unless I find one second hand soon cause the 28 has USM.

  • @jwheeler91 I think either one would be a great way to get started. The 50mm is STILL a great idea at 100 dollars and a 1.8 aperture. I would think hard about the 50. If I was doing it right now I would get the 50mm.

  • @jwheeler91 Iv'e decided to get the 18-55mm kit lens (£60 more). I've read it can be used "reasonably" as a "variable prime lens". I'm not expecting fantastic results from it. But good for starters. I'll also get the 50 f/1.8. Thanks for your help.

  • @jwheeler91 All the best to you. You have to decide on something in the end. I hope you get the most out of whatever gear you get. The gear is after all only a percentage of the final image. Most is going to be up to you.

  • Another great vid Nate. I also have the T1i and will upgrade to the either 7D or the replacement for the 5D Mark II.

I recently bought the 50mm 1.4 and the 24-105mm and love the performance on both. Next up is the 24-70 mm f/2.8.

  • Last week was looking for reviews for 496rc2 head for my monopod. Bumped into yours for the head and 55xprob. Ended up buying both after seeing your review. Delivered yesterday and am thrilled with them.

Just caught your reviews for the 7D. Talked to my wife and now I'm receiving one for Christmas to replace my 20D bought in '05. Please don't do a review for a Ferrari! LOL. Seriously, great vids from someone who use the gear on a daily basis.

BTW The 50mm 1.8 is a great lens.

    TY again.

  • Forgot to mention that the 7d is a little on the heavy side but that's ok cuz it feels great in my hand and seems more stable when pressing the shutter button.

  • I got a new 7d kit with 15-85 lens a little over a week ago and love it. Awesome! Camera. Would like to get a better lens with better range of aperture, so was thinking of a 50mm . Would that be a good all around lens for still pics. I'm a beginner in photography and had the money, so I figured " why! not! " get a good camera that I'll enjoy taking pics of animals, macro, portraits, landscapes and sports.

  • put your lens cap on

  • I upgraded to 7D from 50D and yes it is a nice step i use 17-55 2.8 is usm , 70-200 2.8 is usm mak ll and 100 L macro 2.8 and those lenses on 7D produce better and even sharper images on same settings than 50D So im really happy with the upgrade to 7D aw yeee and AF is better

  • good video -- i like my 7D aswell
