  • I have heard of weight requirements around 220 lbs. Depends on the service you work for. Keep in mind, not wight limit on fixed wing aircraft.

  • Yes I am interested in becoming a flight medic. I live in Miami Fl and over here there isn't any school/program to help me become a ccemtp. I know that's an initial step. I've called the bcctpc they told me to start of like that in a critical care setting and to study really hard for the fp-c exam because it's the hardest test a medic will ever take. I guess in South Fl it's not as popular. I went back to my old school and told them to start a cct class it's in the works. So far I've some what

  • @SandA425 You can take the CCEMTP class in Georgia. The important thing is to get a decent job with a service or hospital that does critical care transports. Ideally get a job for a university hospital EMS system.

  • Would being an army combat medic in afghanistan for a few years make my chances of becoming a full time flight medic higher?

  • @yakityshmack The experience would be invaluable. Are you a certified paramedic or flight nurse? There is also a certification exam you can take to be a certified flight medic.

Did you see a lot in Iraq? I am retired paramedic from FDNY

  • Thank you Jason Hums for the great information and of course may God bless all of you up their.

  • @SandA425 Thank you. What else would you like to know about being a flight paramedic? Are you involved in critical care transport?

  • i went from a "Flight Nurse" to "Flight Medic" I'm an RN so i started out at that but i got on the job and the medic was getting to do all the work and i was just pushing drugs. so i switched over to medic, i dropped in pay but then i went back up. but i wanted to get in the action so i didn't care if pay dropped. i also work at 3ems services owned by the same company, but different towns and also i work as a ER nurse all on my days off.

  • @MedicMentor hey, im going into piloting and i wondered if you know anything about being a pilot for the the police or hospitals or fire department or corprate piloting. were you married at the time you were a paramedic , if so was it kinda hard. thank you

  • is there height/weight requirement? also can you have any color deficiency?
