FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome are diseases that effect the kidney's filtering system and allow protein to escape the body. The NephCure Foundation is the only organization committed exclusively to support research seeking the cause of the potentially debilitating kidney diseases, Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), improve treatment and find a cure.
I really and truely feel for each and every family who has experienced any aspect of Nephrotic Syndrome. This is an awful disease and it effects too many young children. My daughter was diagnosed with FSGS when she was 8 months old. She is now 11. This has been the most difficult thing I have had to ever go though. She had a kidney transplant at 6 yrs old. I pray every day they find a cure for Nephrotic syndrome!!!!

@1Aprilruth My heart goes out to you and your daughter. My 7 year old son was also diagnosed at 6. He is also on loads of daily medications to keep him healthy. We live in fear every day of a relapse. He was just released last July from the ICU after over a month. He was in renal failure. I had never heard of this awful life long disease until my son was diagnosed and it's so heartbreaking. Your daughter will be in my prayers.

My 7 year old son was diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease/Nephrotic Syndrome last October. He went into renal failure last June. He may need to have a kidney transplant in the near future. Currently there is NO CURE for this kidney disease and very little research. Please help gain more attention and more funding for this very important cause. It may just one day save my sons life, or even someone you love.

My daughter was diagnosed with FSGS when she was 4. She is now 14. I wake up each morning feeling blessed that she is still healthy and in medicated remission, but there is also the fear each morning that today is the day her kidneys will fail. Please share this information with your friends and family. Thank you.
