Heard Chris on the Big Show a few years ago and he played this song...Wow! It still catches my heart like it did that day when I was riding down the highway with him strumming on my radio. i love this !

Currently one of my favorite songs. It is a dark song but that just shows you the other side of that personality. And you'd be hard pressed to find a large number of artists that write everything they sing. I work for the only radio station in south texas that plays any of his stuff. And Im all the way in Corpus Christi, the badlands are the only outlaw station left south of at least San Antonio after the closing of the The Outlaw

My husband and I saw Chris at a little coffee house in Easton, Md. last year. One of the absolute best shows we have ever seen. They can say what they want about Chris...he pens his own songs and if he doesn't want to talk to anyone after the show..leave him alone! I love him!

I've not seen him that many times but a lot of times he'll talk a good bit. One thing is for sure...he's a heck of a writer!!!

I could see him being influenced by Steve Earle, but always thought of CK as being way grittier. Sorry to read some stuff that suggests he hasn't always penned his own songs and might not be as accessible as he used to be. Well hell Steve Earle let them use his anti-corporate song in a Chevy add -- guess there's always the pressure to put food on the table

He pens or co-writes 99 percent of his stuff I far as I know. He has done a couple covers, on some tribute albums for Johnny Cash an Robert Earl King.

@jennycarol12 Crooked Road is a AWESOME song! One of my favorites! I wish I had a video of it, theres not really any great videos of that song on youtube.
