Side project from Locket Pundt, of Deerhunter fame, debut album was released in 2009 on Kranky records.

Here are some adjectives : dreamy, blurry, mellow, atmospheric, blissful, gentle, experimental.

Recording of the album started in 2007. Pundt plays all the instruments himself, except for drums on a few tracks.

Lots of effects and blurry production. Lots of stretched out vocals and ethereal sounds. Not enough twists and turns to make it a very engaging listen, this music is better as just a backdrop for a reflective journey.

Not bad, but not very mind blowing. Fans of Deerhunters more shoe gaze aspects will probably really like this. Other people will be mildly intrigued but ultimately alienated from the detached vibe the album has.

  • what track is playing in the backround?

  • Hmmm, it's hard to say. If I remember correctly it's A Threaded Needle.

  • how funny, i just got this album yesterday and I'm loving it. my friend recommended this after I got "Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel" by Atlas Sound.

  • I really dig the Atlas Sound album. It's cool and unusual.

  • that "elevator going up into the afterlife" analogy was one of the best things i've ever heard. nice one :) and also, thanks, cuz i wasn't sure whether to get that album or not.

  • I think the album was only 13 bucks, so it didn't break the bank. I was just curious about Deerhunters individual members sound.

  • This is a great album. The album received mediocre reviews but you're right (this appeals mainly to shoegaze fans). Personally, I think The Floodlight Collective can be appreciated by individuals who seek a different angle in music.

  • That makes you pure evil. You won't be missing out on much.

  • Seems like Deerhunter has a lot of side projects. It's not on Rapidshare. I guess I'll never know what it sounds like hehe

  • Yeah, it's not really an essential album to get. It's not bad, it's just nice background music.
