  • Woot! LOVE Jim Mesi and wow, my friend from work, Jim Solberg is playing bass! Wow, hi Jim!

  • Saw Jim Sat. night 1-9-10 at the M&M Lounge in Gresham, OR. Walked in just as he was tearing into "Apache." The guy plays with the kind of tone and taste that only a handful of guitarists can match, and he does it all without tapdancing on any effects pedals.

  • Thank you for posting these videos of Jim Mesi. Makes me homesick!

  • In '77 I was lucky enough to see the original Brown Sugar, with Jim playing guitar. Years later, I met another great guitar player, Rick Welter in SLC, where he had a band (the Tempo Timers) that hosted the Blue Devils Blues Revue at the Dead Goat Saloon. He brought Paul Delay, Jim Mesi, & Curtis Selgado to the Dead Goat for outstanding shows. Rick is still in Portland, go see him! "Old school" guitar players like Jim Mesi, Peter Damon, and Rick wrote the book! Go see 'em & learn something!

  • as always.....jim rips em all! 3 days after this video, jim played with paul delay, curtis salgado and many others on this same stage in a benefit for vince hozier

  • Knowing him I must agree, but not only the guitarist... he is a top man, our Jim.

  • Very nice version of a classic! I really like the spooky minor chords in the KB solo.

Do I detect a bit of Dick Stewart's "Surfin' the Southwest" influence at about 3:17?

Search for Surfonics if you'd like to hear what we sound like. Keep on twangin'! -Mike Graves/The Surfonics

  • I love this song!and all Surf Music to be axact!

  • you are right Jimmy he is the Bomb!

  • To those of you that have not heard Jimmy, you are missing one of the better guitar players on the planet. There are many so called "big shots" in his home town that very seriously should not attempt to even carry his guitar case !!! He is a National Treasure. 'Nuff said.
