This break during "The Day the Earth Stood Still" features a national spot for Shakey's pizza, followed by local spots for Success Over Smoking, Carpeteria, The Fashionable Flea, and a promo for Night Comfort, from 3/31/80.
@videodoe yep check out there late night movie host tom labrie he sold waterbeads they are posted on here. we got this station in the seventies in eighties on our small ten channel cable system up here on the southern oregon coast in my podunk little 25,000 person town. we lost it in the late eighties.
The particular Shakey's mentioned & pictured here (Modesto/McHenry) is now a indian restaurant called india Bistro. i just drove by there this morning. But the brick lamp towers seen here and signature stained glass windows remain.
What a fun, po-dunk little TV station this seemed to be back then! I bet all the ad sales executives wore really bad polyetser suit jackets when they visited their clientele. Ahhhhhh! Nostalgia!
I bet they sold the shit out of carpet in the early 80s.
