I've heard lots of RR owners say their dogs are great with cats, with proper introductions, just like YOU did. I can see it is so. So funny, 'cause they are "lion" hounds. Cats are very small lions! :)

AAAHhH!! I have 2 RRmixs who LOVE/SLEPT WITH/CURL WITH/ KISS the cat..not the PB RR-HA!!..They used to love each other..then the cat gave her one SLAP too many...I need this to happen again!!

My 2 year old female RR was taught by the breeder whom is an emergency vet. tech. to be nice to small animals, so shes ok with them, and my 1 year old male RR tries playing with cats by pawing at them when we run into one and they sniff each other. He usaulyl just gets a hiss from the cat anyways, lol! :)

Hi! your RR is so hilarious!! I have to upload videos of my RR because i really really love Rasha (that is her name). Yours is beautiful, but tell me something, i want to keep a male puppy next time she breeds but i am afraid the puppy will be peeing his territory all over my house. How did you manage to train yours? Thanks!

That's awesome. I didn't know Ridgebacks could be gentle with cats. I have 2 and they just want to hunt them. You must have socialized him early. I wish I could get my dogs to be nice to cats.

hi,
The RR was 6 years old when we got the cat who was 9 weeks old. The day I brought the kitten home I put a big cage in my living room and put the dog in there for 1 h while the cat was playing outside.Then I put the cat in the cage and the dog outside it . .
did that a few times that day and the next day I let them out together and it all went very well . . .
