I own a shopsmith and this looks like a shopsmith crossed with a metalworking lathe. Looks great! Especially like the crank for the crossways.

I have a Shopsmith that I purchased couple of decades ago... but looking at this tool... given the choice today i would opt for the Supershop. The R8 collet alone allows for it to do a great deal that I currently can't do with the Shopsmith. I really like the dials to move the head and other sliding parts... much smoother. As for the motor... the digital control is likely more consistant... and changing the belt would be much less of a chore. Just checked the price... cheaper too. nice job.
