@velusumana You are contradicting your own proposal by saying music was by Premasiri Kemadasa.. Artists do not have to repeat or cherish the old medieval culture again and again.. And these great artists have not done that so.. (you must be knowing the other songs of these artists) The village and the poor man is not our culture... It is wrong.. @4neet U R wrong.Amaradewa cannot be the symbol of our culture.This song was written by a real villager and the song expresses his thoughts the environment he grew up with. He is none other than our late great Mahagam Sekara.Amaradewa just sang it and even the music was supplied by Kemadasa.Most of the great songs of Sri Lanka was written by Sekara Aiya and Amaradewa just sang it.He never wrote a song in his life.Songs reflects the ideas of the writer and not of the vocalist.
