Review of the Ruger SP-101 revolver. This one is chambered in .357 Magnum but it is also available in .38 Special only and .327 Federal Magnum. Other options include either a 2 1/4 inch or a 3 inch barrel, double action / single action hammer or spurless hammer DAO (double action only).

  • what are those going for pricewise, ball park type figure?

  • @roaringwaterbay Maybe around $350 used, $500 new?

  • NICE GUN AND REVIEW BUT WHAT KIND OF WATCH IS THAT YOUR WEARING LOOKS NICE

  • @PR4470 It's an Invicta watch...

  • how much of a pain in the ass is it to get a pistol permit in california? what if I buy a gun In arizona and then move there... can I keep it or will the cops confiscate it?

  • @DarkheartTheHeritic Getting a CCW is very hard. You don't need a permit to own one though. You can bring your handgun in as long as it's on the CA DOJ list.

  • nice review

  • I'd rather not talk about the outcome but let's say I got it done much more efficiently than my friend did.

So here I am, no guns, and a completely understandable fear of someone busting up in here trying to kill me. I am a martial artist who is partially disabled and I have mastery in Kali knife fighting but, the old addage "don't bring a knife-" applies in most cases, sure I could get lucky, but I'm not an action hero, I'm an average Joe-liberal. So I'm thinking a .38 snub

  • You'd think those big-beefy .45s would've just knocked them right on their asses. He hit them in the places where it'd be possible, hip, side, I believe he got one near the groin even...

My incident, with my 9mm and these hollow-pointed rounds with the red rubber balls in 'em. Sorry I am forgetting the name and looking foolish but it's been a long night...anyway, you worry about over-penetration to a degree more I suppose. But on top of better shot placement. I got the job done

  • So where is my aspie-ass going with this long-winded and (to you) quite possible made-up bullshit? Well, he had a .45, different situation, but he was trained, not as well as I am, but he knows how to shoot and certainly has the balls to back his shit up. However in his case, the men with those big beefy gold-dot (I believe 230 grain? it's been awhile..) tore through those fuckers, causing all sorts of damage I'm sure. But they both made it 2-3 blocks before one couldn't go on

  • Gold-dot ammo from me and that night he was attacked by two men in almost the exact same way I was (home invasion, them coming in with shotguns, the only difference is that I happened to have my Glock right next to the keyboard and the point of entrance just allowed me to get them instantly) my buddy did something so ballsy I don't think I could've done it...they asked him where his money was, etc. He went to his sock-drawer, pulled that fucker out and let 'er rip

  • -Which I'd like to get your opinion on, personally I feel a +p++ or any one of the various hollow point, gold dotted, blue dotted, corbon rounds, etc. in 9mm would do just the same trick-it's all about shot placement in my ONE incident of reality slamming shit and ammo in my face, though that is exactly what you train for, right? Interestingly enough at the same apartment complex within weeks my buddy who was looking at my Kimber who owned a gold-inlaid Colt borrowed some

  • @elblancobasura, and I'll go ahead and say it-I spent 600 bucks on a gun (Kimber TLE 2), which granted was a great deal-without knowing shit about 1911s, or .45s or what I was getting myself into. I learned how to disassemble it, reassemble it, clean it, oil it, all that shit. Which was great because I could now do the same with my Beretta, Glock, and Springfield in under 2 seconds lol. Once I got out on the range though with it, different story. I handled the XDm .40,

  • @elblancobasura, really? I always figured I'd go with a .357 snub just to have that option and get used to the recoil for later on (if you see my above posts I'm no "virgin" when it comes to owning firearms in spite of my age and lack of military experience, although i've had combative experiences that were life or death but I digress, sorry). I thought I was real hot shit (because I was owning it with my Glock 19 on the range and once in real life). Then I fired a .45, .357

  • @zaraa03, the biggest part of the story is now I'm going back to buying the only gun I can afford right now, a russian mosin nagant for 80 bucks, 1) I can defend myself quite well with it 2) I can afford that, 3) if I spend over 300 on anything I feel the need to use it, a lot, because it's a lot of money to me, and ammo is as expensive as street drugs these days hehe. However, I plan on snubbing-it-up by fall at the latest. Used, under 400, think this would well for CC and home D?

  • @zaraa03, I have a theory that the Taurus PT-92 is better than the Beretta 92 or M9 model (which there are small differences, the M9 has a curve between the trigger guard and the end of the bottom-frame) because they put the safety on the frame instead of on the...brain-fart!....slide! lmao....funny...anyway, personal hypothosis, not a theory since I have no scientific evidence. But it's a better design anyway, sorry for getting so off topic, I'm an aspie and am struggling with that.
