@JDizzely I agree. Of course, if you take away state medicare, there's a good chance that greedy insurance companies will name their price and every idiot will just pay it. The best alternative may be a non-profit organization. Otherwise, invest your wealth into The Church of Christ, Muslim, Atheism or whatever you believe in, to assist you with medical problems and your children's education.

it may sound cold, but health care is not a right. It is NOT the job of the government to provide for the citizens.

The majority of people would be better off without a universal socialized health care system. Doctors right now know how much the insurance company will pay, so they charge everyone that maximum. Nurses aren't allowed to diagnose routine illnesses, which is more expensive. Government is already involved in 2/3rds of health care spending, and look at how screwed up it is now. You really want them MORE involved?
