Very informative video, well done. I wish they would make a movie about this ship and it's adventures. The British betrayed the Confederates, and decided not to deliver the twin Laird Ram ironclad battleships. Like the Alabama, the Rams were built by Laird Brothers, of Liverpool, and they would have torn the Union Blockade to shreds.

I would Join the Confederacy as well. My GF's Family came over from Ireland in 1820 and lived in Alabama. She told me she has Relatives whom fought for the Confederacy.

A LOT OF U.S MARINE'S joined the Confederate Navy.

If I was alive during the civil war I'd join the Confederate Marine Corp, the confederates had a big marine base her in Fort Fisher if you know what that is..
BTW I live in Wilmington NC

yup. he was picked up by a british vessle. that's how Raphael survived. The Union ship did NOT kill the men in the water mercilessly, the union rescued and then captured them instead.
