  • @TheCollectionofLife Sir: You simply don't understand ARt (Peculiar capitalization intended). ARt is a sucessful conveyance from one human to another of an experience s/he can relate with. Sullivan suffered from this bullshit all during his career. He and Gilbert created ARt. It spoke to folk, "high" and "low."

Like Monty Python, G&S is successful in German.

(Lightbulb over my head lit) I think you're having me on.

  • Loved the Mikado extract. Not too hot on the rather Americano-mod interpretation of Penzance.

  • The Mikado and Pirates of Penzance are my favorites!

  • "Ah leave me not" IS MAGICAL- thanks for posting this :-)

  • 'Ah, leave me not to Pine Alone and Desolate'. The most beautiful song written by Arthur Sullivan. Just imagine if talent like his could be used to greater affect. Unfortunately, Arthur Sullivan wasted his talent on Operas like these, though the Savoy Operas are marvellous, imaging what Arthur Sullivan could have achieved if he led a career with his serious works.

  • Thanks Lucas - straight into my Favorites.
