  • @robatsea2009 Do you have a WCBS-TV sign-off from 1981?

  • @TimFrith24 Yes. I'd posted it previously on one of my old accounts but didn't bother restoring it as it is identical to this one but the video quality is nowhere near as good.

  • That was a heavy commercial at the beginning. Its a shame that local stations dont devote time anymore to the inspirational message and editorial opinions followed by the sign off and Star Spangled Banner.

  • Correction: Rabbi Martin Levin was HOT!

  • That looks like the montage used in Poltergeist.

  • Rabbi Pat Connell was HOT!

  • @robatsea2009 - And I noticed another user - 'KLXT77' - had put up part of another WCBS sign-off, from 1978, with Norm Stevens reading the script (alas, the TV Code SOGP was missing).

  • @cnmmnc8852 That is surprising! The same way that you spewing a handful of stock anti-semite talking points to make it seem like Christians don't own and control virtually every seat of political and economic power in the USA is surprising... to anybody who isn't a mind-controlled, mouth drooling idiot. Go back to your Fox News where you can continue to feel comfortable persecuted, therefore justifying your ignorant bigotry.

  • @DougMcCallister1 I also feel that if somebody doesn't agree with one of my opinions they should be forced to move to another country!

  • Growing up in the 70's TV sign off always had this and I believe even today although tv is 24 hours that CBS, NBC, and ABC should still do this at Midnight every night and play again at 6am everyday, and also play the pledge of allegiance. If some people have a problem with it they can leave our nation.

  • At that time, most stations went on the air at about 6:00 a.m. and left the air around 1 a.m. Cable was in its infancy then; in 1977 only a handful of stations/networks were available nationwide (HBO, WTBS, and ESPN coming to mind, although there were others).
