    the only chip i used was a ne555 and that was only to generate the sound. The unit itself is basically a servo driven mechanical switch (as the clock hand passes over the contact the switch closes and lets the signal through).

    Since this video i have taken out the sound module and it is currently acting as a sequencer for my moog synth via the trigger input.
