Yantar Slaughterhouse

More mayhem in Yantar. This time, I used different weapons: Makarov, SIG, Groza, AK-74, and AKS-74U. Mostly snork slaughter, but there was also a zombie. Actually, a Z0OMbie! And he sprinted! Also, after he stopped sprinting, he dropped his AK and picked up a SPAS and attempted to wail on me so I let him have it with my Groza. This is the only time I've ever seen any NPC, friend or foe, favor a shotgun over a rifle.

Usually, a friendly NPC will only accept a shotgun if they already have a shotgun that isn't as g0od. For example, if a friend has a sawed-off, you can give him a Chaser or a SPAS and he'll accept it if it's in g0od enough condition compared to what he's got. Also, most NPCs will accept any weapon if they don't have one. But at the same time, NPCs that are programmed to use multiple ammo types typically prefer rifles over shotguns. Some NPCs appear to be programmed to use only certain ammo types. For example, if an NPC is equipped with an AK, they won't swap it for a NATO rifle unless they're programmed to use both ammo types. NPCs only trade up, not down. Vals are favored over Grozas, probably since NPCs don't use grenade launchers anyway and the Val is equipped with an integral sound suppressor.

@metro2033fanboy I've played a little bit of that. Are you watching my very first STALKER videos? The way it all began was I wanted to show people how to hunt snorks. In most of the gameplay vids I'd seen that had snorks in them, the player would shoot from the hip at close range in a spray-and-pray fashion. I wanted to teach them my technique (which doesn't work in CoP). I practiced a lot to get good at hunting snorks.

You mean 7.62x39mm (aka 7.62 M43, aka ".30 short"), right? Not 7.62x25mm Tokarev? There ARE, in fact, ultra-short stockless semi-auto sporter versions of the AK that are legally classified as pistols. I consider them novelty items, given my utilitarian proclivities. A select-fire version as a slot-2 weapon might be handy in the Zone, though...maybe.
