Honda TRX700XX vs Raptor 660 with built motor!

The day has finally come where I raced my friend's raptor. His Raptor is a 02' 660 with high compression weisco piston, aftermarket ignition box(not sure which one), stage 1 hot cam, GYRT intake and exhaust. My Honda 700XX is bone stock...

well i havent seen a race between the raptor 700 and xx but i can say from experience that the 525 is no where near as fast as the 700 raptor. have family that runs flat track with both and flat out , hands down the raptor decimates the 525. no comparison...

im waiting to see a race between a stock kfx700 and a stock xx

just help me determine which im getting. kinda like the vtwin sound over the enormous single.

@coolaid84 My friend has a raptor 700 with the same mods as me. We went riding Saturday and I was a little bit faster. Our riding abilities are even. 700r and the 700xx are pretty much even dispite what people claim. The xx is lighter, faster, and has way more ground clearence than the kfx700. The ONLY thing I like about the kfx is the sweet v twin sound with an after market exhaust. Hope this helps.

@fastfirstgen yeah actually that does help. but now it comes down to stupid fast or sweet sound. kinda like the automatic tranny too. but then again the xx would make a great addition to my uncle race team. would be sweet since there are a couple 450r tearing up the circuit. the 700 should be a scary feet to see with all the comparible mods of the 450rs to the xx.

do you know how hard or easy it is to lower the xx for flat. i know the kfx doesnt have squat for lowering ability

@coolaid84 i read an article in dirt wheels mag and the kfx 700 only beat the 700xx in acceleration and thats it and the 700xx tops out higher

@coolaid84 about the 525 i have an 08 irs and i beat a 06 raptor 700r he beat of the line but i couldnt keep my wheels down but anyways i beat him top end by like a 1 mph or 2

i have a buddy who has that excact 660 with dyna 5 ignition stage 2 hot cam yoshi pipe, jet kit, k&n filters and still cant out run my stock 700xx we run side by side start to finish everytime

i raced a 660 raptor the other day and didnt have the same results..he wouldnt tell me what he had done to the engine..he had a plus 3.5 swingarm. we did a rolling start so he always took off before i did. im 240 lbs as well. hes like 180 on a lighter bike with engine mods. i just hava fmf Q4 slip on no programer either. but despite all the set backs i managed to catch him slowly.
