@356butch Yeah the animals are the biggest problem in almost all the recovery missions in the high Sierras, coyotes, bears, vultures are all over the place and scatter the remains, as was the case in Yosemite.
@jerryk2198 Judging from the remains of his aircraft, a cup sounds about right for that kind of impact, not to mention scavengers like crows coyotes and possibly even bear doing their part.
Ive been on a SAR mission in yosemite with my class to look for a lady who went missing 10 years back, we needed to find her GLASS EYE to make sure it was her, we found her tennis shoe and backpack. The same rescuers said they hepled to search for FOSSET and said they only found about a cup of his remains.
I Heard Richard Branson Took The Remains of The Plane Back to England, he Had His Engineers Put it Back Together, And Now it is in Service With Virgin Airlines.......
@HDaviator Financially enabled records. He wrote big checks to some great engineers and stood on their shoulders. Tycoon, definetly! Aviation pioneer? Meh.
Poor Bastard - The world has lost a great pioneer!!!!

Perhaps if the poor person broke over 100 records.

Just mangled wreckage. Little remained of Fossett himself.
