This record is quite a find, in any condition. What makes this copy so special for me is that it is autographed by the group. This side of the record is somewhat discombobulated, although it is good... The band and the group both go off key in spots... The musical break is really rough. This almost sounds more like a demo than a record that was released to me, but that's a part of the beauty in doo wop. These were kids that sang on the corner. Regular kids that turned into regular people with lives, loves, passions, sorrows, losses and triumphs, just like you and me. They, however, have a record to show for it all.

  • I found this record referenced on a For Sale list from George's Song Shop ($800 VG+) so after a search I wound up here to give a listen. Glad I did. GREAT tune! Thanks for the post, PJ. Go to minniepaulmusic (sorry, YouTube doesn't allow external links here) for an in-depth piece on the Gaity label and the person who made it happen, David Hersk.

  • @efmurphy3 - I'll check it out, thanks. I heard from Dave a few years ago. I'll have to see if I can find his info.

  • Amazing arrangement, great vocals and instruments.

  • It's a little raw, but I agree that it's a great record

  • It's a rockabilly band backing them up--Norton Records put out a 2 cd comp of the label's output--thetre are alternate takes of both sides

  • I've heard an alternate take for Two Hearts Make One Love. Didn't realize they had an established band behind them. I wasn't sure if it was a combo that was put together for the record or not.

  • I wasn't old enough to pee if I was born at all when this music was in vouge but I love it so much. The songs were so simple yet said sooo much and spoke to your heart in an innocent way. I wish it would come back.
