We(Drummers)use a dynamic system that INCLUDES specific heights to make it easier to visually understand while helping to create uniformity. We are supposed to strive to have a consistent approch to the drum regarless of heights/dynamics. In general, consistency of heights dictate volume, however the music is the ultimate factor in defining volume. Warm ups are desgined to get the drummer mentally focused and engaged. This brings up uniformity. 3 in. is most known tap height but, not everywhere.
@iplaydrums333 If you look at a ruler 3 inches is actually a lot higher than most techs and players say. I've marched in a line where the 3 inch height that is desired is actually just over an inch and a half. It is the most annoying thing to adjust to once you've actually played 3 at 3 inches. Grant it 2 people are playing 4 but still the majority of the line is playing an honest 3.
I miss this quadline.
