@jackric54 - I have the same reaction to this scene... I remember when young and watching this scene and experience, perhaps for the first time, how movies can touch you. To this day, this scene never ceases to evoke the same emotional experience in me, a testament to the power of film.

Very seldom does one see a movie this good anymore. The new movies seem to be none stop shooting and death. I sometimes wonder what those people who started this country would think of it now.

its an amazing book that the movie is based on, its so hard to find i lucked out by finding mine completely on accident in a used bookstore...fifty cents but now im looking for a better copy b/c mine is falling apart :(
