Gleeks, what's up? — I'm Jager Weatherby with Wetpaint Entertainment. Over the past few months, casting news and updates from Glee's apparently fickle producers have been just about as rocky and unpredictable as New Directions' quest for glory at Nationals. But apart from the seemingly never-ending "will they or won't they leave" debate surrounding fan faves Kurt, Finn, and Rachel... we have some juicy Season 3 casting news that's a guaranteed sure thing.

First up, we've got confirmation that McKinley's resident soul sister, Mercedes, will finally catch a bit of extracurricular action come Season 3. After Chord Overstreet decided not to return to Glee this season, SamCedes shippers have been devastated that the surly actor's untimely departure spelled romance disaster for poor, loveless Mercedes. Well, die-hard Gleeks can finally quit losing sleep, because we now know that Friday Night Lights vet LaMarcus Tinker has been cast as a larger-than-life linebacker named Marcus. The footballing Romeo is set to cozy up with Mercedes in what Glee big-wig Brad Falchuk has described as a too-hot-for-high-school, power-couple type relationship — and in what the show's legions of adoring fans will undoubtedly call "about damn time."

Next up, the scoop queens over at TVLine are dishing that the Glee powers-that-be have added two new tough-as-nails girls to the lineup this fall — great news for those fans who thought Season 2 was a little too much "kumbaya," and not nearly enough "Mean Girls." The first McKinley newb is Sheila, who's been described as a tattooed Joan Jett lookalike. Now, we've heard whispers that Brittana is a total no-go this season, so maybe the Sapphic-sounding Sheila will finally round out that all-girl double-act Santana's been looking for.

The other new mean girl on the block is the fabulously named Sugar, who — in a bid to make all of our wildest trash-TV dreams come true — is being touted as the teenage equivalent of The Real Housewives of New Jersey's cray-tastic Danielle Staub. Apparently, the wildly tone-deaf Sugar will audition for New Directions when the kids head back to school in September... and all we have to say is, bring on the table-flipping, Rachel Berry!

I really hope we get some Brittana this season. Their story is my favorite on Glee.
