Actually pretty dumb of Saruman to choose Sauron's side. Gandalf and Saruman were both Istari, they were both MAIAR. Same level as Sauron. Together they would have quite a big chance against the forces of Mordor.

Ian McKellan as Gandalf is about as perfect as the definition of casting gets. Unless it's Christopher Lee as Saruman The White. Both wizards magnificently cast. More so because Lee is a Tolkien scholar and knows more about LOTR than most men alive.

I've seen death and talks of the doom of the middle earth but that ONE phrase gave me the deepest chills of all the 3 movies.
Sarumons voice is so powerful and haunting.
