Last year I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours observing the famous Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. I was completely alone with the birds, who were eating from two feeders that had been set up in a remote area. What a joy it was just to spend time watching them.
You don't have to see them on Telegraph hill.. I hardly (if ever) go up it. But you can see them in the embarcadero park near the 4 Embarcadero buildings.

I saw & heard these guys in '92, long before any books or movies about them. They are very cool.

What a delight! Good cinematography, too! Especially the preening, kissing pair and all the close ups.I first learned about these guys through the documentary The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, of course. Saw it 3 times. We should have a parrot but my husband wouldn't be able to handle the noise:-(
