In the 3rd video from my time with Marty Schwartz from GuitarJamz we talk about jamming together and staying out of each others' way.

Marty plays a cool little "Tore Down" style bass groove while I play a common comping pattern that works in a LOT of situations.

Hope you enjoy it and thanks for all the comments.

  • @surfco What'ta ya' mean "us?" He was givin' the finger to YOU, hodad.

  • It's great to see Griff and Marty play together. Both of you are excellent instructors as well as very good guitarist. I play and teach guitar myself. However, as you already know, it's always good to watch and play with other guitarist to pick up new tricks and techniques. I would like to see more video's on getting good sounds and effects.

  • I can't believe the PAP (a.k.a. shite) that some viewers will impart with these "free" lessons. Oh- to be so perfect-move on and watch someone else will ya?

  • This lesson is as cool as, i am a member of BGU only for a few months and am about 1/4 of the way through. if that. this lesson really opened up a few doors for me, just got me playin with some different chord shapes and what ever. cheers.

  • Have purchased 3 different DVD sets from BGU ~ Griff Hamlin and have learned a lot of new and what I thought I did know, but humbled in what I didn't. Good to see Marty and will check him out as well. Thanks both of you for the time in doing this video and that two instructors are willing to work with one another to help those of us wanting to learn and improve.

  • I am self taught and learn from gentlemen like yourselves. From what I hear, read, and 'mistakes' that make the sound. Thank you for your posts (some of it works on the bass, no matter what genre I play). Thank you again!

  • Great lesson guys!!!!! ;-)

  • groovy sound..i liked it a lot.i dont get into personalities.i stick to the music only.

  • lol@steven I had the same learn to play with the kingston trio record. Had lemon tree, green back dollar and a few others. That, chuck berrys greatest hits and jimmy reed live at carneigie hall were my only teachers for a long time

  • You guys are amazing teachers! Keep it up.
