Governor Pat Quinn proclaims "Herb Kent Day" in Illinois.
Capping off the Real Men Cook charity's 3rd annual Holiday Roast & Toast, Governor Quinn honored WVON and WVAZ radio legend Herb Kent "The Cool Gent" for his 65 years as a deejay -- the longest career of any radio deejay in history, as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Real Men Charities created the opportunity for Herb Kent to be recognized by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and for Herb to be palced in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest career in radio. Partnering with supporters including State Farm and The Nielsen Company Guinness flew in for the event, The Real Men Charities, Inc. Roast & Toast to Herb Kent, to induct Herb.
