in terminal server client when it has user name and password. could you enter the username and password of the remoted machine and have it login to it without you logging in on the remote machine when it opens on your linux device?

@Felipecabesas The windows machine should be given a "static IP". Then on your router configure port 3389 both TCP & UDP to the static ip of that computer. Then use the public ip to connect form outside the network.

The only problem was provoked by the firewall of Windows

This is a great tip. Is it secure to setup a remote desktop?
Oh, and can you transfer a file from the local desktop to the remote? (the opposite of what you did)

The terminal server client works but the thing is it forces the remote machine( which is xp in my case) to log off , allowing to know that the computer is being remotely administered .

The question is, will this work over internet or just within the same network? THanks
Great, but doesn't Configuration of Ports in the Router cause problems some times?

@Felipecabesas Yes and you have to make sure the appropriate ports are open if you encounter problems with it.

Hi, may I know what version of ubuntu that you're using in this tutorial? and how did you put the Apple Mac's theme on it?

I was using Ubuntu 9.04 64bit on this video. The theme is one of the default Ubuntu themes except for the icons. Sorry I forgot what the icons package was called.

Yes you can do it over wireless. That's exactly what I did in this Screen-cast. Try reinstalling the program and make sure it has all the dependencies it needs. Let me know if you are still having trouble with it.
