Fully fretted and strung with steel strings. I wasn't yet a banjo player when I made this video, but you can get an idea of how it sounds from the guitar style up-picking I do here.

  • It was an ebay purchase. It's 12 inches and cost ten or fifteen dollars.

  • Was it a bodhran. I have a bodhran (Irish style drum) and have thought about making it into a banjo also. Did you trim down the depth of the drum (i.e., the width of the sides)? My bodhran is about 18 or 20 inches diameter.
