Personally i'd prefer the cable to go directly into the wall, not run down the wall first. where they can cut em so easily. That's just me =]

In reality this would cost a lot of time and money. Not to mention planning. Rooms/electric sockets don't just happen to be one wall away.

Thats the difference between a certified Security Installer and a home owner. A security installer would conceal the wires in the wall and not drill through the hardwood floor. Not too mention you would get a warranty and guaranteed that it was done correctly. If lives will depend on a product then it is best to have it professionally installed.
