Interesting, the "1000" point font reminds me of that from Trigon / Lightning Fighters. Obviously the "Force Gear" is one of the classic shield buzzsaws from Gradius.

I used to play a similar game on my old IBM PC : Thexder by Sierra Online.

That'll be drool inducing! BTW I heard Konami is releasing a new Gradius game for WiiWare in Japan.

In regards to Megaman 9 being fully original and back to its classic style, this is definitely an opportunity for Konami to capitalize on.
Making Force Gear a full game, and making them downloadable on XBLA and Wii Virtual Console, with lots of updated visuals, more levels (duh!) weapons, digitized music, and some bullet hell

I have a real PCE Duo and a USB capture device that allows me to capture footage directly to my hard drive.
