It's big but I don't see it weighing 400lbs.
-
For a 400 lb. robot, Molly can really go.
-
makes a high pitched sound
-
This is cool and all, but it is not a robot; it is an R/C vehicle.
-
The PWM frequency of motors should be changed
-
How does it work on different types of terrain?
What is its intentions for it?
-

We pried off the offending track with a high-precision crow bar, dragged her off the hill, and pushed her back into the van. This was the third time we've had to haul a non-functioning robot home after a test. Thankfully this time she was up and running again within the hour.

Now I'm not saying that isn't bad ass, but isn't it really just a super tough remote controlled car?

No, sir, it's just a super BIG remote controlled car. As you can see from the video, it isn't all that tough.
The original iteration was completely computer controlled, but the wireless was a little unreliable for my liking. I swapped out the fancy computerized inards for an trusty radio and haven't looked back.

why so slow? isn't the etek motor 5hp?
xsyar 3 years ago
15hp actually, and there are 2 of them. Of course, that's only at 48V. During this taping we were running at 24V and 11:60 reduction. Max speed is 4mph, but it can climb stairs with an extra 400 pounds on board without breaking a sweat.
