Can I correct you? If you are a Christian, you are religious because the word religion means "relationship" and Christianity is about relationship with God.

@soldeglo I first heard of it from "The Philosophy of Tolkien" by Peter Kreeft where he says, 'Prayer is near the heart of religion, because "religion" means "relationship", or "binding relationship", between God and man (or Elf or Hobbit)". (on page 66, on a google book search)

on wikipedia: from L. religionem (nom. religio) "respect for what is sacred, reverence for the gods,"[5] "obligation, the bond between man and the gods"[6]

@DreamfallenOne Ok, I see that. And yet I think we can agree that that's not the primary use of the word, it's just a subtle part of it. Religion includes a work-based system to reach heaven or enlightenment. Christianity, in the purest form, is faith that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. "For by grace are we saved, through faith, and that not of ourselves it is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." Eph. 2:8-9. Through that we're able to have a relationship with God.
