"Thirst" is a short-film based on a story from my collection, "The Darkness Within" (ISBN #0-9774535-4-5), published by Rising Star Visionary Press. One of two such films we originally shot "just for fun," they came out better than we had expected.

The films were produced on no budget to speak of, using consumer-level equipment. Both films still contain scratch tracks from other music sources; procuring original scores is the one element we have never successfully completed (three different composers flaked out on us ... but what can you expect for no-pay?).

CAUTION: "Thirst" contains graphic violence and adult language.

  • good show. good show. V^^^V

  • @bobbledorf Thank you very much. :-)

  • WTF! this was a lame ending. like there was no point in watching!!!!

you don't even explaing why he suddently turned in to a vampire!!!!!

  • @jose00091 Sorry you didn't enjoy it. The cause of his mutation was the contaminated water getting into his mouth and the cuts on his hand. That's why we showed the two close-ups of the Warning sign in Part I.

  • @actorwriterdca Hold on bro the movie was great! it actually made me laught:] ya I knew it had to do with the water cuz ya you did do the close up on the water, but like it was missing the point to why the water was contaminated or what was it in the water that made him really thirsty.

but other then that it was great. Did you use only a home camera? it was pretty legit for something home made.

  • @jose00091 The original short-story hints that pesticides are in the water -- there are types that cause unquenchable thirst in rats, so that they drink themselves to death. For the film, it was decided by both the director and main cast that the source of the trouble should be left unclear, so that the viewer could decide for themselves.

Yes, this was made with a home mini-DV camcorder, and consumer-level software. I'm glad you enjoyed it after all.

  • somewhat similar to a short story i wrote a while back called "Something in the Water"...we think along the same lines

  • Thanks! :-)

  • water contaminated? Couldn't be that true. It can be disease or even death.

  • *That* is up to the reader/viewer to decide. ;-)

    Thanks for watching.
