The pictures exhibited by Patrizia Gucci at Opera Gallery in Budapest show a refined and intellectual painting. Her landscapes are neither realistic, nor entirely abstract. Nature is only a starting point and it is transformed towards a lyrical abstraction with a soft metaphysical undertone.
The colours of Patrizia Guccis paintings dont follow those of the real world, their origin is not in the seen scenery.
The colours of Patrizia Gucci come, first of all, from the dreamside of her being, and only in a second way, their origin is the reality.
As Heidegger says, the essence of art is the poetical and I dont have any reason to decline this assertion what Patrizia Gucci makes is art in its entire sense.
I wrote above, that beyond their firstly aesthetical, poetical aspect, Patrizia Guccis landscapes have also a secondary, metaphysical meaning.
What could that be?
It could be the pursuit to find the answer to the following question: Wouldnt it be better to live our life, as much as we can, in a poetical way?
Who knows?...
