I enjoyed watching this! Cine film makes even recently (to me!) filmed events seem very old. I never tire of watching archive film of the 3 towns. Thanks for posting.

@fuddymox Thanks for commenting .Know what you mean about film--it does have an ambience that digital misses in its technical perfection.
I liked the uploads on your channel--very nicely filmed and edited though at my age the stunts raise my blood pressure.

Good to see and remember the Harbour when it was still a working Harbour and not a Marina as it is now. My Friend's Dad was a Crane Driver there (Pat O'Hare). We need to preserve these old recordings so the likes of my Son's can be shown what it used to be like not so long ago.

@popeyeskipper Thanks for your kind comment on my video. I have been transferring a lot of of old 8mm and super8 film to my computer but most of it is family record as opposed to archive material However if i can cobble together some more i will post it. I agree with you about the present day use of harbours--we have the same in Greenock where it has gone as far as filling in two very old drydocks to provide a site to build the new Greenock Arts Guild.
I believe it's called REGENERATION!!

Hi
Loved the harbour film - any more wee gems in the cupboard.

Glad you enjoyed it.
I have a lot of both Std8mm and Super8mm film which I have been transferring rather crudely by filming the screen image with my camcorder.
Most of it is family record but I would hope to get some more general interest material from the material.
