  • Did u use any kind of optics? Lens...

  • @XantheFIN sure! I used the lens used to focus in cd/dvd. simple and eficient.

  • is this burning into plastic or metal?

  • It´s burning/melting plastic. =]

  • Why it is inaccurate?, i mean, at the end it always moves a bit...

  • The incaccurate comes from my hand... I´m turning on / off the laser... when the CNC stops in a point, the laser should be off, and I (all we) have a delay to see it. so... :p tnks to watch!

  • @nianzasur Watch Kipkay, he makes how to make a burning laser videos.

  • very good job, how do I make one? you can teach me? you can send a Leap or something?

    Thanks from Uruguay

  • @MasterCollingwood cutting metal with a laser is alot more violent theres sparks and all that fun stuff

  • very kool! I was reading over the comments to see if there was anything else I would need to get a rig like this setup. mainly the laser section of it the rest is pretty simple. is a capacitor required or would 112mA - 105mA of power be sufficient? Hope you're still checking back on this.

  • Looks great!

Use the spindle on/off m-codes and an output from the cnc to turn the laser on and off. That way you can control the laser right in the part program.

  • You ought to set it to shut off the laser instead of raising the head. You don't really need to raise the head. Of course it depends on the software you are using. It's pretty easy with EMC2, dunno about others.
