Hi, I've been reading about the Hubbert Peak theory for about 23 years now. Australia uses around a million barrels of oil a day on 2007 statistics. We should reduce migration to australia and keep the growth at a sustainable level. Stop populating the 3 major cities , Sydney,Melbourne, and Brisbane including Qld south east. Move and develop areas where we can build small cities on unproductive land which are sustainable close to transport , renewable energy ,and food supply .
I made a film to help people prepare for Peak Oil. It's called, "Preparing for Peak Oil". Australia has lots of coal and uranium that depends on oil to extract and transport it....
I was lucky enough to see this documentary at the University of the Sunshine Coast as part of World Environment Day. What a superb but utterly sobering insight into where we are headed. I am now putting in place various changes to my life since seeing this documentary but plan also to spread the word. I just hope this movie can somehow be seen by the wider population and in particular our elected representatives.
Congratulations to those involved - you have changed the way I will live from now.

ABC has done a few programs regarding PO, one called CRUDE and another on 4 corners.
Richard Heinberg has also been interviewed on Lateline.
As far as I know the other networks have not touched it yet.
