[Quick Tutorial] How to set up an internet radio station using ShoutCast

This tutorial is outdated, both SAM Broadcaster AND ShoutCast have newer software. I managed to get an internet radio station working on my laptop, using this tutorial, but for those that don't want to go find the links themselves I'll upload a new tutorial within a few days.

I made this quick tutorial to help you get started using shoutcast and SAM Broadcaster.

I will discuss the installation of the: ShoutCast Server, MySQL Database Server and SAM Broadcaster.

Hi, I did my ports and stuff, but it comes up with SAM:

"St...ErrorDisconnected (10054)"

Then it changes to:

"St...ErrorInvalid server password"

Can you please help thanks.

@newalexman1212 Well, I guess the server password is wrong then, try checking that first. If that doesn't help, make sure you are using the right encoders, some servers only support a specific encoder.

He is telling you a fib i the video. He states that "you need MyQsl, to run Sam & ShoutCast". That's not entirely true. You need it only for Sam, not for ShoutCast. I use Winamp, with my ShoutCast and don't need MyQsl, at all. Also, in the config file you may want to set the "Maxusers" to lower than 33, depending on your bandwith. You can get ShoutCast at: shoutcast [dot] com/broadcast-tools
