Kingston Trio recorded this under the title "Rider".

What I like is that this is obviously live, not lip synched!!

I wonder if the brunette is Peggy Santiglia who sang lead on My Boyfriend's Back for the Angels-- she looks sort of similar to how Peggy looked in 1963-- and I know she toured with this group at one time

There's an underlying sexual current to this

I'm working on an animated movie with hippos for their song "MUD." I saw them live at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1964 or so. The performance was electric! Especially "Sinner Man." The animated movie will be up in time for Christmas.

Oh my god...you're right! Just like you said: I recognize Brovsky and the bassist. I know for sure both of the women weren't originals, they lost their banjo player, and they lost the guy with the awesome voice who you can hear clearly on Freedom's Star. They sure changed their style over those few short years: I don't recognize their sound at all here. Did you happen to see their reunion in 1999? Was there any recording made? Anyway, thanks a lot for the post!!!!

Well, this is a great song and a great performance. But, westcoastpaeb, these aren't the Serendipity Singers that I knew and loved in the 60's. I don't recognize a single band member from the band that made the original Serendipity Singers album. Who are these people, and what year was this performance?
it's a traditional woman's blues song
Recorded by lots of people.
Here's a small sample with the different titles used.
Grateful Dead - I Know You Rider
Judy Roderick - Woman blue
John Renbourn - I Know My Babe
Byrds - I Know My Rider (I Know You Rider)

No, didn't see their reunion in 1999. I would think that they did make a recording of it but I'm not aware of one ever being released or circulating.
It looks like the only other video of the Serendipity Singers posted on YouTube is of Sing Out from Dartmouth College, Hanover New Hampshire 2/15/64 from the Hootenanny TV show. The best of Hootenanny 3 DVD set is a must and in addition to that Sing Out it includes an incredibly beautiful performance of them doing Sailing Away.

These are the Serendipity Singers. From '64 to '67 looks and styles did often change quite a lot. There was a 2 year period between their 5th LP end of 65 and their 6th and last LP in 67 Love Is A State Of Mind with a more electric sound.
The guy in the glasses (Mike Brovsky) is an original member and I believe the bass player is too and probably one or 2 of the other guys as well.
