I'm interested in attending the Kudan institute for three weeks in the summer in the future; could you tell me about your experience?How much Japanese could you speak before you went there?Was it hard to communicate with your host family?How can I convince my parents to let me go? I'm naturally shy, but this is something that I really want to do. But the most important thing is: Is it safe? And how quickly did you make friends? 'm not sure my parents would like me palling around tokyo by myself.

One last thing. If I go, do you know of anyplace where I could buy a yukata? And if so, how much would it cost? On the Kudan website it said that "Yukata (summer kimono) will be presented to all participants" but I'm assuming that you don't get that if you go through WLE? Or do you?

everyone gets a yukata free (including shoes!) and u get to wear it to a hanabi :)
u would still be going to kudan, the only difference with going through wle is that they organize everything for u and are there for u if u have any major problems.

So WLE is a middle man for the Kudan Institute? And I didn't see the Summer Holiday Program listed on the WLE website; does it go by a different name there? That's what it was listed under on the Kudan website. Thank you so much for all of your help!
