@christoferL particular moments. Maybe I was just blessed but it worked for me. I don't condone systematic beatings but I think the problem in society isn't physical punishment, its people who don't understand the severe impact it has, My son never plays with fire, he still looks both ways twice before going in the road, and he is never cruel to the weak. Three spankings with life long affects. Imagine the affect on the abused? The confusion? I was beaten as a child. I know. GBU

@christoferL on my behalf (if I do say so myself) - he has turned out to be a stable kid with big dreams and he has demonstrated more humane tendencies then I ever could've dreamed of... the point is - the only time I ever thought spanking was suitable was when I faced something that I was afraid was going to harm my son in a tremendous fashion if the behavior wasn't stopped immediately. Obviously I was very select on those three moments... but spanking was useful for those (cont)

Great message here - after the lashing you gave me I came to the channel and remembered why I love you so much, my friend. I have to say - I was a single dad raising my son... and I did spank him - exactly three times... 1) for playing with fire 2) for jumping into a busy street and 3) for maliciously tripping his 1 yr old cousin. Never did I slap hard - or on a bare butt - Never did it extend past three swats... but because of those three times and good parenting (cont)

Excellent video.
You identified the problem(s*) and provided solutions (the links) - so many people just bitch and moan without even attempting to help.
*As to the problems associated with people using terrible tragedies for their own purposes, nothing but a huge notice that something is terribly wrong followed by their own introspection can fix such myopic bullshit and you provided half of that as well. Peace.
