why do they do this with "spacers"? XD I know the first one is thick but still... Why doesn't he train to break just 2 only with no spacers? Whats the world record for doing breaks without spaces??

I personally saw Shihan Slaven cut a beer bottle hanging from fishing line from the ceiling at the Hombu in Kingswood in the late 80s with a knife hand. As I recall it just fell straight down and I, amongst others, saw his undamaged hand.
