@arkee71 ... and that's why I wear my Son House tee =)
-
@Sheindie that piedmont stuff is awesome and i love it...but no blues is more haunting and beautifully gut wrenchingly powerful as the delta...imho of course:)...see son house

My favorite is, and always will be, Mississippi John Hurt!
-
@AssyMcAssFace or that way around, lol- then of course it makes sense that Fahey's music sounds like Kottke. :) thank you for the info!
-
It has a touch of Leo Kottke to it, cool tune!

@Raymantico Love Fahey. But the good old USA is not at fault for his personal problems.
-
@TheAvantgarage You had a blessing in yr life and in yr art --just listened to his Xmas tuneage the night before last--he makes the old chestnuts new again. peace to you.

@Raymantico i took lessons from john when i was in my early twenties. he lived in a place called the oregon capitol inn. he taught me more about feeling and developing a unique style than theory. plus we would listen to records all the time. had no idea who he was or how legendary he was until my mom pulled about a half dozen of his takoma lps out from her collection. rest in peace, john.
genius had to pawn his guitars & live in a shelter---good old usa

@owlet1963 More like Leo Kottke has a touch of John Fahey in a lot of his songs. He was Kottke's mentor, to give credit where it is due.
