  • @forgottenmemories63 a Dragon is Symbolic in Asian Culture it represents Perfection in Wisdom, Knowledge and Virtues

  • See you wouldnt get this with Christianity or Islam they be like no your evil you dont worship the God of the Bible or Quran depending etc Hinduism sees God in everything that is why Jews who have been persecuted by the Christians and Muslims lived in peace in India and same with Parsies who fled Iran because of the Muslim invasion of Persia and fled the persecutions to India because the spirit of God compells them

  • Doesn't Shintosm mention of Legends of Dragons and stuff ? Nothing of that sort in Hinduism or Buddhism..

  • @knightsofstjoan2004

    Disclaimer:No cultural chauvanism involved ;)

What I meant in regards to what you said was that Shintoism being older than buddhism is influenced by Hinduism and mostly shamanic/tribal japanese beliefs.Buddhism itself is heavily influenced by Hinduism(dharma, karma,Moksha et all) so even if it influenced Shinto later, that will again be Hindu influence.

Japanese practise exactly what you said,a mixture of Buddhism and Shinto,Japan Buddism is totally shinto influenced!!

  • @cillantro=I doubt that Buddhism can't impact Shintoism, anything is possible. They can practice a religion which is a combination of Buddhism and Shintoism.

  • @yaqubtaveras Don't worship something that can harm/heal you.worship something that you can feel.Do not worship prophets like christ or Muhd. They are fallible, afterall they are human.worship peace,nature...you don't need an outer god while he is inside of you, just like he is inside all of us.God is one, just the way we worship him is different. This is the philosophy behind Shinto/Buddhism/Hinduism and all other eastern dharmic faiths.People don't worship statues but channelise their prayers in it

  • @siddhartha29 Dude are you being sarcastic ;)

  • @knightsofstjoan2004 shinto which is older has more of an impact on buddhism in Japan! Buddhism assimilated all local faiths everywhere.

Shinto being older, buddhism can't impact it!Even if it did, hinduism influences buddhism which in turn(lets say) influences shinto, that will still mean Hinduism has influenced Shintoism! Confusing?

Buddhism grew out of Hinduism,a sort of rehashing or reinterpretation of Hinduism the way one great guru saw it.Dharma/karma/moksha are all Hindu/Buddh concepts

  • We are all the same! Hinduism,Jainism,Buddhism,Shinto...as a matter of fact Buddhism is a sect of Hinduism...even the greatest Buddha Gautama/Siddhartha lived and died a Hindu/Buddhist.Our religion does'nt say you can't follow another, but the problem if one decides to follow abrahamic religions is that they being totalitarian in nature don't allow one to follow what they please..not so in dharmic faiths.Whole of India was Buddhist in the Mauryan era and converted to Hindu out of free will later!
