  • To the critics of Barbra's mature voice I'd like to see what your sorry ass can do at 67. "She had more range and a faster voice in her early work"

    Didn't we all.

  • An exciting young singer...indeed! Still thus!

  • @henrysinaga I think Love Is The Answer CD is one of her best.

  • Why does the name of this song sound like Captain Kirk wrote it?

  • Lyrics by Fran Landesman RIP August 2011

  • The distortion and sound is so poor taken from a TV show, it is not fair to an artist to be listened to this way.............I've heard her at 19 and in her 60's and she has yet to me matched.

  • I always felt that Barbara had a phenomenal range, especially when she had a 3-octave range "plus 2 notes". Her voice was lovely, but what impressed me the most was the fact that when she reached the highest notes, she was "singing them", not screaming like most singers do nowadays. She did that with ease and perfection, no strain, just beautiful music. My opinion was she definitely was the Greatest Female singer of our time. Maybe some of you disagree?

  • Always wished we could see this performance. Especially to find out if it's Barbra or an audience member that coughs at 2:53! ("Spring can really haaaang you up...COUGH!.... the mooooooost!")

  • @fontenayperi Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most is a fabulous and favorite jazz standard, with lyrcs by Fran Landesman and music by pianist Tommy Wolf. The lyrics expound on ts elliot's "April is the Cruelest Month," and infer that Spring - of new birth & new beginnings - is a most difficult time of year to be pining over love lost; the earth 'springs' back to life, but all you want to do is lie in bed "looking up at the ceiling" and pray that "snow will hide the clover."

  • what does "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most" mean?

  • i prefer her voice tone today but she had better control then.

  • @PJCoan I like the 2009 version, while the 1962 version has bettervocal performance, the 2009 arrangement is just to die for!
